Her Power Africa Hosts Her Power Moves Masterclass

HER POWER AFRICA HOSTS HER POWER MOVES MASTERCLASS, CEMENTING ITS PLACE AS A LEADING VOICE IN AFRICAN WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP
Her Power Africa, the women's leadership and empowerment community platform co-founded by Anele Maphanga (neé Nzimande) and Bonolo Smith, successfully hosted its latest Her Power Moves Masterclass under the theme Power Moves. The event brought together a high-calibre room of women leaders, founders and professionals for an afternoon of purposeful conversation, practical insight and meaningful connection.
Now in its second year, the Her Power Masterclass has grown into one of South Africa's most anticipated gatherings for professional women. The Power Moves edition drew an engaged community of purpose-driven women at various stages of their leadership and entrepreneurial journeys, all united by a shared commitment to moving forward with intention.
The Her Power Masterclass Power Moves was designed as a curated experience to help attendees pause, reset and identify the bold, aligned moves that this season of their lives is calling for. The programme featured grounded, honest conversations about what it takes to lead and build in demanding seasons, practical tools for clarifying next steps in work and life, signature Her Power Africa reflection moments, and intentional networking designed to spark collaboration and community.
The masterclass welcomed exceptional South African women whose careers embody the spirit of the Power Moves theme. Busi Mkhumbuzi Pooe, Co-CEO of ThinkShift, a systems-change practice working at the intersection of education, work and future skills, joined the Her Power community for a conversation on leadership and intentional movement. Mkhumbuzi Pooe, a Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient, has worked alongside the Department of Basic Education, UNICEF and Allan Gray and Gill Philanthropies, and served as Programme Director for the Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture delivered by President Barack Obama. Her session explored what it means to lead with purpose in complex and demanding seasons.
Cikida Gcali-Mabusela, CEO and Founder of Louro Collective, brought her remarkable entrepreneurial journey to the event. Holding a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Master's in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa, Gcali-Mabusela previously served as General Manager of Uber Eats South Africa, where she launched multiple pioneering and award-winning retail projects. Her conversation centred on the entrepreneurial journey, the courage required to pivot and the power of backing yourself fully.
