The House of BNG

Bonang Matheba Launches Her Own Exclusive Brut And Brut Rosé MCC’s

On Monday 18 March 2019, Bonang Matheba launched her own range of Brut and Brut Rosé Méthode Cap Classiques (MCCs) called The House of BNG. The luxury beverage was introduced to the world in Johannesburg, South Africa at The Riboville Boutique Hotel. The project positions Queen B as the first Black woman to become a member of The Cap Classique Producers Association.

The project was carefully constructed under the watchful eye of Matheba along with Cape Wine Master Jeff Grier. The two-year long process involved the crafting of a unique blend of flavors tailored to the taste preferences of the woman who popularized the term ‘champagne, darling!’

It is globally known that I love champagne and I am often referred to as ‘the champagne queen’ by my fans”, Matheba states. “It was an organic process to make a champagne-style drink my first venture into the beverage business. Knowing that we have some of the world’s best grapes here in South Africa made me decide to make a Methode Cap Classique product – which is made in exactly the same way as champagne but using South African versus French grapes. In my view, MCC rivals some of the best French champagnes so this is my love letter to Africa.

The Hamptons themed event was attended by South Africa’s elite with a guest list including Minister of Small Business Development, Lindiwe Zulu, Maps Maponyane, Somizi, Jessica Nkosi, Nadia Nakai, Boity Thulo, Gert Johan Coetzee, Rich Mnisi , Luthando Shosha, Kefilwe Mabote, Khanyi Mbau, Pinky Girl and more - adding an element of luxury and star power in a venue that prides itself on urban luxury in a country setting .

“The House of BNG has been a passion project of mine for a long time. Building something from the ground up has been an experience that I relish, and having an acclaimed wine-maker as the expert consultant has made the process a dream. The House of BNG embodies timeless elegance and celebration and I’m excited to introduce it to the world”.

The House of BNG Brut and Brut Rosé will initially be available exclusively at select Woolworths stores nationwide and on Woolworths online, following which it will also be released in other retail stores.
